Evidence and Impact

We consider our work with schools to be successful if:

  • The school's objectives for the partnership are achieved
  • Nationally recognised measures of success are met and exceeded

Progress towards these goals is monitored through a range of internal and mechanisms, including:

  1.  'Hard' Measures:
    • Ofsted Judgements
    • Performance in national assessments (SATS performance, GCSE 5 A*-C, Contextual Value Add)
    • Attendance and exclusion data
    • Assessment of quality of teaching
    • Achievement of specific contractual performance targets
  2. 'Soft' Measures:

    • Annual head teacher survey results
    • Student and staff attitudes
    • Parental opinions and engagement
    • Progress towards partnership objectives

Ofsted Judgements
EdisonLearning has helped schools in categories to improve to achieve satisfactory judgements and better. Good schools have also been supported to achieve outstanding judgements.

Indeed, it is the powerful way in which the core values have been taken on by staff and pupils, the very impressive teamwork and the strong Christian ethos throughout the whole school community, which result in outstanding community cohesion, care, support, personal development and well-being.  Because of their strong understanding of democracy, through working together in class councils and through the School Council, the pupils are developing the skills that will enable them to become effective citizens and productive members of their communities… The school’s core values are known by all and even the youngest children are able to talk about concepts such as “compassion” and “responsibility” with understanding and can relate Christian ethics and values to their own lives.  The curriculum is good and improving due to the changes the school has made in the last year. Pupils find the new creative topic work fun and engaging."

There is a high emphasis on developing pupils’ personal as well as their academic skills… Personal ‘core skills’ are covered well within the wider curriculum. Consequently, pupils learn the benefits of working together for example, and taking responsibility."
